Kobido - Facial Massage in Warsaw (Żoliborz)
Natural beauty appears when the face is no longer fighting tension.
What is Kobido Massage?
Kobido is a Japanese facial massage that combines deep muscle work, lymphatic drainage and relaxation techniques within one ritual.
More than a facial treatment, Kobido is a return to stillness —
where the nervous system slows down,
the body releases tension,
and the face naturally regains its softness, glow and vitality.
By working with the facial muscles, fascia and circulation, the massage supports natural lifting, relaxation and overall wellbeing.
Cosmetic benefits of Kobido ritual:
improved skin elasticity
Regular facial massage stimulates circulation and supports the natural production of collagen and elastin — proteins responsible for skin firmness and flexibility.
As tension in the facial muscles softens and blood flow improves, the skin often appears smoother, fresher and more lifted.
Softer facial lines and wrinkles
Many expression lines are connected not only to skin ageing, but also to chronic muscular tension held in the forehead, jaw and around the eyes.
By relaxing these areas and improving tissue mobility, Kobido massage can help soften facial features and reduce the appearance of tension-related wrinkles.
Healthy glow and improved skin tone
Massage stimulates blood circulation and oxygen flow within the tissues, helping the skin look brighter, healthier and more nourished.
Improved circulation also supports better absorption of natural skincare products used during the treatment.
Reduction of puffiness
Kobido includes elements of lymphatic drainage, which helps reduce fluid retention and support the natural removal of excess toxins.
This may visibly soften puffiness around the eyes and improve facial contours.
Deep relaxation for the nervous system
Kobido is not only a lifting massage.
By working with the muscles, fascia and nervous system, the treatment helps the body shift out of chronic tension and overstimulation.
Many clients experience a deep sense of calm, emotional release and physical lightness after the session.
Health benefits of Kobido ritual:
discharge lingering facial toxins
- massage stimulates the lymphatic system, which aids the removal of toxins and impurities, that can build up in the facial skin, thus improving its appearance.
Improve lymph flow
- activation of lymphatic drainage not only aids detoxification but also improves skin tone, rendering the skin more radiant and healthy.
deep relaxation of body and mind
- massage has a soothing effect on the nervous system, reducing stress and emotional tension, which contributes to overall well-being.
reduction of bruxism
- massage relaxes tense jaw muscles, which can help to reduce problems associated with bruxism (teeth grinding), thereby improving comfort and reducing tension.
eye relaxation
- gently massaging the area surrounding the eyes, improves circulation and reduces puffiness and dark circles under the eyes, thereby fostering a rejuvenated appearance.
nape muscles relaxation
- massage involving the neck and nape relieves tension in these areas, often leading to a reduction in stiffness and improved posture.
reduction of tension headaches
- by soothing the muscles of the face, nape and head, the massage proves to be highly effective in alleviating tension headaches, particularly those induced by stress or muscular strain.
Stages of the Kobido facial ritual
Preparation and relaxation
The treatment begins with gentle work on the face, neck and décolleté to release tension and prepare the tissues for deeper stages of the massage.
At first, the massage is performed without oils or cosmetics to stimulate circulation, relax the fascia and awaken the facial muscles naturally.
Natural oils and serums are then applied to nourish the skin, support hydration and improve tissue regeneration.
Lymphatic Drainage and Cleansing
This stage focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system and improving lymph flow.
Gentle lymphatic drainage helps reduce puffiness, remove excess fluid and support the natural detoxification processes of the skin. As circulation improves, the face often appears fresher, brighter and more relaxed.
In Japanese facial massage, this is often called the cleansing stage — preparing the skin and tissues for deeper lifting work.
Natural Lifting Techniques
This is the most dynamic stage of the Kobido facial massage.
Through rhythmic lifting movements, tapping, kneading and deep work with the facial muscles, the massage stimulates circulation, improves muscle tone and supports natural collagen production.
The movements are precise and intensive, yet never aggressive. The goal is not to force the tissues, but to restore mobility, softness and natural facial vitality.
Regular Kobido massage may help soften facial tension, improve contours and support a healthy, lifted appearance.
Deep Relaxation
The final stage focuses on calming the nervous system and bringing the body into a deeper state of relaxation.
Gentle work on facial pressure points and slow relaxing techniques help release remaining tension held in the face, jaw and head.
This part of the ritual allows the muscles to soften completely, while the body shifts from stress and overstimulation into balance and calm.
Kobido and Jaw Tension
Embark on extraordinary adventures
Kobido massage can help soften facial tension, calm the nervous system and relieve stress-related tightness in the face, temples and head.
For some clients, this may also bring relief from mild jaw tension or tension headaches — especially when stress and emotional overload are the main source of discomfort.
However, when the tension is deeper and more chronic, particularly around the masseter muscles and jaw joint, intraoral (buccal) massage is usually a more effective approach.
Buccal (intraoral) massage allows direct work with the deeper facial structures responsible for teeth clenching, bruxism and long-held muscular tension.
Contraindication
Like any massage, the Kobido lifting massage has its contraindications. The most important of these are :
-
contemporary aesthetic medical procedures ( laser, botox, threads, injections, etc)
-
condition of inflammatory skin diseases, wounds
-
Cancer: Active treatment and the 5-year period following the completion of treatment (consultation with an oncologist is required).state of inflammatory conditions in the body (fever, toothache)
-
Intensified acne conditions (rosacea, adoloscent)
-
treatment of tooth root canal, and recent tooth extraction
-
tumours
-
the early trimester and the final month of pregnancy (presuming a normal gestation), or the entire duration of the pregnancy should any complications arise
-
issues pertaining to the thyroid gland (in the context of a facial-lifting massage, we consciously abstain from addressing the area surrounding the eyes).
How Often Should You Get Kobido Massage?
There is no single answer to how often facial massage should be done.
The condition of the skin and facial muscles depends on many factors — stress levels, lifestyle, sleep, physical activity and overall health all play an important role.
I personally believe in regularity rather than intensity.
For most people, treatments every 2–3 weeks allow the muscles, fascia and nervous system to gradually release accumulated tension and respond in a more natural way over time.
The body learns relaxation.
Circulation improves, the tissues become softer and more resilient, and the effects tend to last longer with regular sessions.
Facial massage also works best when supported by healthy daily habits such as movement, deep breathing, rest, yoga or stress reduction practices.
At the same time, Kobido can also be enjoyed as a single relaxing ritual — before an important event, during stressful periods, or simply when you need rest, softness and natural glow.
How long do Kobido results last?
Many people notice immediate effects after the first session — the face often appears more rested, lifted, radiant and relaxed.
However, the deeper and longer-lasting results usually come with regular treatments.
Kobido is not a zero-one massage focused only on a temporary lifting effect. Its greatest value lies in the deep relaxation of the body and nervous system.
When the nervous system slows down and the muscles gradually release chronic tension, the face begins to change naturally. Facial muscles can slowly “learn” a different resting state, circulation improves, oxygen flow increases and the tissues regain more softness and mobility.
This is often why expression lines appear softer, the jaw releases tension, the chest opens more naturally and the entire posture may look lighter and more balanced.
The effects are always individual. For some people the changes are subtle, while for others they are more visible. Stress levels, lifestyle, posture, sleep, breathing habits and emotional tension all influence how the body responds to the massage.
With regular sessions, Kobido supports not only the skin and facial muscles, but also the nervous system’s ability to return more easily to a state of deep relaxation and balance.

A Kobido massage session lasts about 1 hour 40 minutes.
I use unrefined oils and creams based on shea butter, enriched with vitamins, hyaluronic acid, prickly pear, and a selection of other natural ingredients that support the restoration of the skin's lipid layer.
I always prepare the face by removing all traces of make-up.
The massage can be augmented with the incorporation of exfoliation, an algae mask, or an intensified lifting massage specifically targeting the delicate areas surrounding the eyes and forehead.
